In the semiconductor manufacturing industry, which requires high precision and cleanliness, electrostatic discharge (ESD) control is a key link to ensure product yield and equipment safety. PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is a high-performance engineering plastic that is widely used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment due to its excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance. ESD PEEK (anti-static PEEK) has increased the ability to dissipate static electricity on this basis, making it an indispensable high-end material in the semiconductor industry.

Performance Benefits of ESD PEEK material

By adding conductive or antistatic fillers, ESD PEEK sheet and ESD PEEK rod can effectively prevent static electricity accumulation and avoid damage to sensitive electronic components by controlling its surface resistivity between 10^6Ω~10^9Ω. Typical performance parameters are as follows:

Tensile Strength: Approximately 90~100 MPa

Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT): above 280°C

Dielectric strength: 3.2 kV/mm

Density: 1.32 g/cm³

Coefficient of Friction: as low as 0.3 (dry friction)

Static Dissipation Time: Less than 0.1 seconds

These parameters allow ESD PEEK sheet and ESD PEEK rod to maintain stable performance in high-temperature, high-humidity, and clean environments.

Specific Applications in the Semiconductor Industry

1. Wafer Bearer Equipment

ESD PEEK rod is commonly used in the manufacture of wafer transfer arms, card slots, and carrier boxes. Its antistatic properties prevent contamination of the wafer surface due to electrostatic adsorption of particles, while its high-temperature resistance adapts to cleanroom environments.

2. Cleanroom Components

PEEK ESD sheet is widely used in the manufacture of partitions, brackets and rails in cleanrooms. Its low outgassing characteristics do not pollute the chip manufacturing environment and are easy to machine to fit complex structures.

3. Static Sensitive Test Equipment

In wafer test probe holders and test fixtures, ESD PEEK sheet and ESD PEEK rod can effectively prevent electrostatic breakdown, improve test stability and product yield.

Application Cases of ESD PEEK sheet and ESD PEEK rod

It is proved by an international semiconductor manufacturing plant that they replaced the traditional ABS material with ESD PEEK sheet and ESD PEEK rod in the wafer conveyor system, the particulate contamination rate on the wafer surface was reduced by 35%, and the equipment maintenance cycle was extended to 2 times, significantly improving production efficiency and product reliability.

In conclusion

As semiconductor manufacturing processes develop to the nanoscale, the requirements for material cleanliness and functionality are increasing. With its excellent comprehensive properties, ESD PEEK is gradually becoming one of the core materials in the field of high-end manufacturing.
